Road Ban Status - In Effect In Effect

Road Ban Weight Restriction Bylaw No 1946

Annually, spring road bans are put in effect in the Municipal District of Taber for commercial and heavy vehicles with heavy loads, to help extend the life span of Municipal roads. During the spring thaw, roads become soft and easily damaged. Road bans help extend the lifespan of Municipal roads, including reducing road repair costs and making it safer for motorists.

Regional enforcement officials will be doing spot-checks across the Municipal District of Taber.

Passenger and recreational vehicles are exempt.

Pursuant to the authority granted under the Transport Safety Act, the MD of Taber will be implementing road bans:

Effective Monday, March 18, 2024 at 7:00 a.m.
