Each property is unique and it is often best to contact an Assessor regarding the specific details of your assessment. However, general information about property assessment in the MD of Taber can be found under the Municipal Property Assessment section of our website. This section contains a brief explanation of the Legislation which assessments are prepared under, market value, property classes, etc. If you’ve already visited the website and have further inquiries please contact an Assessor at the Administration Office. Your Assessor is available Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm (Closed from 12-1pm).

You may wish to phone ahead and confirm that the Assessor will be in the office, not out inspecting properties, the day you plan to come in.

We sell both Book and Wall Maps at a cost of $20.00 each.  Our Maps are updated on a quarterly basis. They can be purchased in person at the Main Office at 4900B-50th Street, Taber.  If you have any questions please call the main Administration Office at (403) 223-3541.  Thanks.

The M.D. of Taber issues a Home Occupation Permit for the secondary use of a dwelling unit (and/or its ancillary buildings or lands) by any trade, profession, or craft for supplementary employment as long as it is not readily visible from the adjacent lands. The Home Occupation Permit is renewed annually. The cost of a Home Occupation Permit is $50.00.  It can be obtained from the MD office at 4900B-50 Street, Taber, the MD website or faxed to you.

Any citizen may submit an agenda item for the Council Agenda by forwarding the information to the Municipal Administrator in person, by fax (403) 223-1799), by email to admin@mdtaber.ab.ca, or by submiting an item through the M.D. of Taber Website under Contacts.

All regularly scheduled meetings of Council, Subdivision and Development Authority (First and Third Mondays beginning at 9:00 a.m.), Agricultural Service Board (First Monday of the month at 10:30 a.m.) are open to the public.

Council meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.  Meetings start at 9:00 a.m. and usually conclude around 4:00p.m.  During the rare occasion that a meeting date is changed please check our monthly events calander.

Our main office hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. The office is closed for lunch from 12:00pm
